Does anyone know about Ray Kurzweil?

May 31, 2010 by NanotechDirectory.com · 5 Comments

He is one of the brightest forcasters of technology in our country:

- Has a degree in computers from MIT
- has awards from 13 universities and 3 presidents
- part of the Scientific Hall of Fame
- invented the first voice to computer software
- even testifed before congress

He says by 2050, we could have nanotechnology grow new organs at cheap cost….for anyone who doesn’t know nanites are machines smaller than 100 nanometers, that could potentially enter the blood-stream, dispence medicien or even rebuild DNA.

The only draw back is Kurzweil doesn’t have a degree in biology, only in computers. So how does anyone really KNOW if his predicitions are reasonable? Anyone work in the medical field here?

How can you keep track of the latest reasearch?
Its great to hear from you Gilli. My concern is not whether this is feasible, but how soon and do we have a reasonable chance to see these predictions comes true in our life times. 40 years from now just seems too short, but then again you never know…

Did you know that the Bible was printed on a Pinhead?

May 30, 2010 by NanotechDirectory.com · 4 Comments

Israeli nanotechnology scientists have succeeded in printing the entire “Old Testamant” in Hebrew on a silicon chip “smaller than a pinhead,” reports the Internet news source Science Daily. The feat was accomplished by shooting a focused beam of tiny particles, called gallium ions, to etch the text onto the gold-covered surface of the chip. “The nanobible project demonstrates the miniaturization at our disposal,” explains Professor Uri Sivan of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. It also paves the way for “storing information in very small spaces.”

Nanotechnology and Health – Clothing with natural herbs that release enough kinetic energy to combat cancer, diabetes, ulcer, depression, ADHD etc. Is that a myth or we have a real solution to 23,600 medical and psychological problems. (Your comments are greatly appreciated)
